Happy Wednesday friends! Wow, how in the world is it August already. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was finishing up school, so excited to start my summer. Since it is coming to the best time of the year (yes, I’m talking about Fall), I figured, why not show you all how I plan this month of August.
I love the month of August. From back-to-school supplies, to long summer nights. Every month I try to sit down on the first and plan out my month (the best that I can). It is usually helpful for me to have my planner out while doing this so I highly suggest you go grab yours if you have one! Now, let’s begin to plan…
The first thing that I like to do is look at my calendar and put down any important dates I might have. This probably seems like an obvious one to most but it helps me so much that I can know what I have on what particular days. After I put all the important dates I write a little list on the side that has all the things that I wish to do this month. For example, if I wanted to plan a trip into the city to shop, go to a museum, see a show, etc. this would be the list for all of that. I like to put it right next to my full length calendar, that way I can just cross it off and put it on certain dates once I find out what days I’m free.
After I do all of that I like to make another to do list of all the things I wish to accomplish this month. Now obviously you’re not going to be able to think of everything that you want to do throughout the entirety of the month however having some basic ones to start you off is a great idea and I have found writing them down makes me more productive and want to accomplish those tasks more so than typing them out on my phone. Usually I will write everything down and then highlight a key which shows which colors are prioritized and which ones can be put off for later.
Finally, I budget out my month. Now you can find budget sheet online or make your own, whichever you prefer. Luckily for me I have one that is already in my planner for each month. They are super easy to make however, all you do is write down each week, how much you want to spend, and really customize it to what your necessities are whether that be adding monthly bills, extra money to spend, etc.
These are the three most important things I like to do when the first day of the month hits. It definitely is not for everyone but it something that is helped me so much throughout the years and something I plan on continuously doing for years to come. I almost forgot to add though the most important thing that I love to do every month, have fun! Live your best life and do what you love, with a new month comes new possibilities, now that is the most exciting thing of all!
