The Importance of Being Habitual

Happy Wednesday everyone. For today’s post, I will be discussing the importance of keeping habits and having routines. It is something that I do in my daily life, and really can add and help improve yours, once you get in the hang of it.

Habit:

“a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.”

Some of my Habits:

1. Working out 1-2x a day.

This one is fairly new for me but so important an such a game changer. Ever since my summer began, I made a promise to myself to workout at least once a day. No breaks, no excuses. I feel so much lighter and overall better than I had prior to doing this habit/routine, and I also am now able to enjoy other things (such as a cheat meal or ice cream two days in a row!).

2. Daily Reading.

This is one I have been doing for a little while now. Every night I take the time to read, journal, and read one page from my two 1-Page A-Day books. It gives me a chance to reflect on the day, and learn something new.

3. Meditate/Health Shots.

This is more of a health habit. I enjoy meditating once a day to relax my mind. Mentally, I enjoy this because it gives my mind a rest. Physically however, this has improved my way of life in more ways than one (I have a post all about this in the Health and Fitness section of my website!). I take daily health shots because I actually feel a difference in my digestive tract when I do. I can feel my body working out all the toxins and overall improving my immune system.

These are three habits/routines I tend to stick with everyday. There are others I do every now and then depending on the season, if I am in school, etc. Being able to stick to even one thing everyday gives you something to look forward to and continue to grow and work on for yourself. I hope you all enjoyed and be sure to stick around for a Friday’s post!

Quote of the Day:

“All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better” –Ralph Waldo Emerson.
