Happy Wednesday everyone. Today I figured I’d make a post about how to fill your summer days with fun and productivity. Since it is Wednesday, some may feel lazy, tired, having a random urge to binge show a show on Netflix (I feel you!), instead of making the most of your mid-week day. Below I am going to list some of my favorite things to do when I have the day to myself, and nothing to do.
What I Do;
I know, I know, we all saw this one coming. I will not go to much into it since my last post was all about reading and what I plan to read over the summer, but reading is something that fills my days and I feel so productive doing it (who would’ve thought?). On those days where I just want to be staring at my computer screen watching Netflix and/or Youtube, I usually run into the problem where I get a HUGE headache from staring at the screen. Taking breaks to read has helped me so much and gotten me into the habit to read and do all the computer stuff if I have the time.
2. Do some sort of a craft.
This has been something I have been incorporating as part of an almost daily routine, if you will. Whether it is writing or making spreads in my bullet journal, or going outside and painting, I enjoy the peace and comfort I feel in doing things I know will expand my creativity and brain cells.
This one may sound horribly boring, but I love cleaning and organizing different items/spaces I own. My room, bathroom, drawers, the list goes on and on. There is something there that is so theraputic for me knowing I have just made something look/act much cleaner and better than it did before. I always throw on some records and jam out (with the occasional conversation or two with myself).
This is definietly the thing I have been really focusing on as my summer is just beginning. From running to bike rides, I love to get some form of exercise in at least once a day. So far I have been sticking to this and even enjoying it enough that I am going twice a day. I feel so good and it has really made a difference in how I occupy my time and energy.
I hope you all found some inspiration and enthusiasm through these four summer activities. I know I have been utilizing and enjoying doing them and am excited to continue to as the summer continues! Happy Wednesday!
Quote of the Day:
“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move” – Robert Louis Stevenson
P.S. This quote really motivated me even more so than I already was, to dive into Treasure Island, and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
