Happy Friday friends! Since it is Friday, you know what that means… book review day (Yay!) Today I want to talk about a book that has made it into my top 10. This book left such an impression on me and is the first I’ve read of this well known author. The Trial by Franz Kafka is the story of 30 year old Josef K. and his struggle to understand the trial he is under. The novel is not very long itself (only about 120 pages) and has you turning pages the whole way through. I do not want to give anything away (that means go read it) but it will have you never wanting to put it down, relating to Josef K., and even questioning yourself. Are you on trial?
If any of you are not familiar with Franz Kafka he was a German, Jewish author whose works left a major mark on 20th century literature. His most well known novel, Metamorphosis is on my next to-read list after falling in love with this last one. This was definitely a novel I would normally never pick up, however after being required to read it for a class, I couldn’t be happier that I picked it up. I an actually so obsessed with this book I somehow ended up obtaining three copies of it (yes, it’s that good!)
I hope you all have a great weekend! If you have already read this novel, what were your thoughts? Did you enjoy it as much as I did? Please let me know in the comments as well as any book suggestions you might have! Happy Friday friends.
